Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow. If you stand in public to discuss the issue of men's rights, many people will consider you mad, but men have several challenges. It is now an open secret that it is men's turn to be oppressed as women have been. For the last two decades of the twentieth century, the whole world has been engaged in advocating for women's rights, especially girls. It is true that girls have been belittled and oppressed by cultural, political, and economic systems that lacked substance. Girls fell into the snares of early marriage at a young age, did not get the opportunity to go to school, were circumcised, and subjected to various other abuses. Due to this situation, boys have enjoyed the status of being born as boys, that they are superior to girls. It is not surprising that an elder married off his daughter so that the dowry obtained could pay the school fees for his son who was studying. The great summit on women's rights in Beijing, China in 1985 is one of the most illuminating summits on women's rights. Non-governmental organizations, United Nations organizations, various governments, and even companies supported the movement to fight a common enemy: "gender inequality." The goal was to elevate girls to reach where boys were. Aid was provided, projects were initiated, schools were built, religious organizations emerged, loans were given, and all targeted that girl who had great needs for rights. The girl was elevated; to a large extent, she crossed the threshold. The danger of these movements is leaning too much towards the female gender and forgetting men. Men also need to be given equal opportunities and rights as women. The problem of unemployment among children, especially boys living in difficult and dangerous environments, is increasing in the country. Cases of theft, destruction of property, and murder of innocent people have increased, mostly young people are used by wealthy individuals to commit these crimes. Some do not go to school and have turned to drugs, they are called "mateja." Sincere efforts must be made to save this group. QUESTIONS a.
